Orientation
To ensure a seamless transition to Stony Brook University, students will receive a two-part orientation upon completion of the FLY program.
Pre-Arrival Orientation
Prior to finishing the FLY program, students will participate in a pre-arrival orientation organized by the FLY Team. The information presented in this orientation will help students understand what steps they need to take before departing their host institution.
- Campus housing request process and deadline
- FLY transcript request and submission
- Transfer credit process
New Student Orientation
All returning FLY students will join New Student Orientation along with other newly admitted freshman. New Student Orientation begins prior to arrival on campus, with virtual academic advising and registration, Seawolf Foundations Online Orientation, and Seawolf Connections.
The orientation process continues with early arrival to campus for New Seawolf Welcome Week. During this time, students will participate in a series of required workshops and optional social activities.
Family Orientation
Family Services and Support offers a virtual Family & Guest Orientation. Family members and supporters are encouraged to participate to learn more about their student's SBU experience!
