Enroll in FLY

ALL newly admitted Freshmen to Stony Brook University are eligible to apply for FLY!

Follow the steps below to submit your FLY application. Before you start, you will need the following additional documents. All documents should be submitted electronically:

Valid Passport: Copy of your information (photo) page. Your passport must be valid for a minimum of 6 months at time of application.
Statement of Purpose: Please indicate your interest in the FLY program of your choice and how it will help you reach your academic goals. (300 words)

Step 1

Apply to Stony Brook University

All admitted freshmen to Stony Brook University have the opportunity to participate in the FLY program for their first semester or year at one of our FLY locations.

Upon application, you can OPT-IN to additional FLY information in your SBU Application Portal.

Step 2

Submit Your Deposit

To secure your space at SBU:

- - Accept your offer of admission
  - Pay your Tuition Deposit
  - Set up your SOLAR and NET IDs

Choose your FLY Location

Review the FLY locations and course availability to decide which program best fits your academic goals and personal interests.

Submit the FLY Application

Use your NET ID to login the the SBUAbroad Portal and submit your FLY application.

Step 5

FLY Admission

You will be notified by your SBU email and in the SBUAbroad Portal of your acceptance to SBU FLY. Once accepted, you will receive more information about your program.
