Uploading Images and Files
When uploading images and other types of files, follow these general rules:
Do:
- Ensure your files conform to the required file naming conventions and rename them if necessary. See Naming Files to learn how.
- Resize your images using the image editor (or through an outside image editor like Photoshop). See Editing Images to learn more.
Do not upload images greater than 1MB. Other files (PDFs, documents) can be up to 1GB.
IMAGES
Images should be uploaded to either the main _images folder in the root level of your site, or to _images subfolders within a content section. This is done not only to keep your site organized, but in the case of images saved within a content section, to keep the image files out of the side navigation. Learn more about side navigation.
PDF and other files
Like images, PDF files (or other document files like .doc or .xls) should be saved to either your _pdfs or _docs folder in the root level of your site, or to subfolders within a content section, for the same reasons stated above for images.
Uploading files
You can either upload one or more files from the Pages view by clicking the Upload button, or you can upload a file while editing a page by clicking either the insert/edit image button, or the insert/edit link button in the toolbar.
