Virtual POD Reservation & Use Guidelines
Our Virtual PODs provide students with a private, quiet space for telehealth appointments, virtual meetings, interviews, and other online conversations. To help ensure that these spaces remain welcoming and available to as many Seawolves as possible, we ask everyone to follow the guidelines below.
Who can reserve a Virtual POD?
Virtual PODs are available for reservation by currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students.
What can Virtual PODs be used for?
Virtual PODS are ideal for activities such as:
- Telehealth or other private virtual appointments
- Virtual meetings or appointments
- Zoom or Teams calls
- Virtual interviews
- Other online conversations where a quiet, private space is helpful
Virtual PODs may not be used for club meetings, office hours, commercial activities, or other activities that are not consistent with their intended individual use.
Virtual PODs should not be used for timed exams or other timed test-taking. If you require special testing needs, please contact the team at the Student Accessibility Support Center (SASC).
How long can I reserve a POD?
Reservations may be made up to 5 weeks in advance.
Students may reserve a Virtual POD for up to one hour per day. To help keep PODs available to everyone, please do not make overlapping, back-to-back, coordinated, or multiple reservations intended to extend your use beyond the daily limit.
How many people can use a POD?
Standard Virtual PODs are designed for one person at a time.
Accessible Virtual PODs can accommodate up to four people and provide additional space to support students who use wheelchairs or other mobility devices.
Accessible POD Priority
Our Accessible Virtual PODs are available to all students. We ask members of our community to help us keep these spaces available for students who need their accessible features.
Students who require the accessible features of the POD have priority for its use. Other students are welcome to reserve an Accessible Virtual POD when it is available.
If another Virtual POD is available and you do not need the accessible features, we encourage you to reserve a standard POD whenever possible. Thank you for helping us provide equitable access for all Seawolves.
Help Us Take Care of Our PODs
A little courtesy goes a long way. Please:
- Arrive and leave on time so the next student can begin their reservation.
- Use hand sanitizer before and after using the POD.
- Remove all personal belongings and trash when you leave.
- Leave the POD clean and ready for the next Seawolf.
- Keep noise at a reasonable level.
- Remember that reservations are non-transferable; the student who made the reservation must be the person using the POD.
Please take all personal belongings with you when you leave the POD. Personal belongings should not be left unattended. The University is not responsible for the loss, damage, or theft of personal belongings. Items left behind may be removed and transferred to the appropriate lost-and-found location or University Police.
Sleeping, sexual activity, fighting, excessive noise, writing on or damaging furniture, and other inappropriate conduct are not permitted.
Promoting Access for Everyone
Virtual PODs are a shared student resource, and we want as many students as possible to have an opportunity to use them.
Please do not coordinate, sequence, stagger, or strategically space reservations with others to create extended or near-continuous use of a virtual POD.
Students who repeatedly do not follow these guidelines may have their Virtual POD reservation privileges restricted or suspended.
Be Courteous to Your Fellow Seawolves
