Insurance & Costs

We accept many prescription insurance plans for your convenience. Please check with our pharmacist to confirm that our pharmacy is part of your insurance network. If you are enrolled in an SBU sponsored Student Health Insurance Plan, refer to the prescription section of the benefits chart in the Guide to Student Health Insurance.

Have your insurance card or copy of it with you for your first visit to the pharmacy so we can enter it into your computer profile. (Please note: your pharmacy prescription card will have a BIN number on it. Please provide a copy of both the front and back of the card.

For those students who do not have prescription coverage or prefer not to use insurance for prescriptions, we offer deeply discounted pricing on prescription drugs and over-the-counter medications. All medication charges/copays will be charged to the students SOLAR account.

Ask the pharmacy staff to explain your benefits to you so you can calculate how much your medications will cost. We may be able to suggest lower-cost alternatives to help reduce your costs.

Note: There are limits on some prescription benefit plans. It is the student's responsibility to contact their prescription benefit provider to find out the benefit limit.
