Faculty in the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (FAHSS) Program

Encourage interdisciplinary conversation, research, and teaching within and across arts, humanities, and social sciences disciplines. Two award opportunities are available: individual projects funded at up to $3,500, and interdisciplinary projects funded at up to $7,500.

Seed Grant Program

Managed by the Office of Proposal Development within the Office for Research and Innovation, the OVPR Seed Grant Program aims to give Stony Brook University faculty a competitive edge in securing external research funds by supporting and fostering innovative scientific and scholarly activities that will lead to the development of proposals with a greater likelihood of success.

Special Initiative Seed Grant Program

Periodically, the Office for Research and Innovation offers seed grants to support special university initiatives. Past programs have focused on supporting research in artificial intelligence, climate change, and biomedical sciences, among other areas.
