Join the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs for our quarterly New Postdoc Welcome, followed by an informal coffee for all postdocs.
The Welcome offers an introduction to Stony Brook to help recently arrived postdocs
maximize their postdoctoral experience. All postdocs who have joined us in the past
six months are particularly encouraged to attend.

1.2018 Blavatnik Awards for Young Scientists: Campus deadline: TODAY, 1/19
The New York Academy of Sciences Blavatnik Awards for Young Scientists acknowledge
and celebrate the excellence of the most noteworthy young scientists and engineers
in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. The regional competition recognize outstanding
postdoctoral-rank researchers who work in disciplines in the life sciences, physical
sciences, mathematics, and engineering with unrestricted financial prizes for both
finalists and awardees.
Three winners will each receive $30,000 in unrestricted funds and six finalists will
each receive $10,000 in unrestricted funds.
THIS IS A LIMITED COMPETITION.Stony Brook University may only nominate up to 15 postdocs for this award each year,
and those postdocs must have publications from the postdoc already to be competitive.

2.Intelligence Community Postdoc in Multiple Fields, $75k+, Due: Mar 12
The Intelligence Community (IC) Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Program offers scientists
and engineers from a wide variety of disciplines unique opportunities to conduct research
in a wide range of topics relevant to the Intelligence Community. The research is
conducted by the Postdocs, while working in partnership with a Research Advisor and
collaborating with an advisor from the Intelligence Community.
In partnership with the Research Advisor, the Postdoc composes and submits a technical
proposal that responds to a current research opportunity.
U.S. citizens and recent Ph.D. graduates or doctoral students who will soon complete
their degrees are invited to apply.
Award Details: Stipends: $75,000-$79,000 Travel Budget: Up to $6000 Duration: 2 years, with third year option Host Lab Funds: Up to $5000 Research Advisor Funds: $10000 stipend plus $2000 travel
3.Biomedical Chemistry Research Assistant Professor, Binghamton University
Binghamton University began a Freshman Research Immersion (FRI) program in AY2014-15,
in which teams of research faculty design research courses and then work with a Research Assistant Professor who oversees the day-to-day research of the students. The undergraduates proceed
through three courses (basic research methods in the freshman fall, beginning research
project in freshman spring, and then follow-up research in sophomore fall), with about

4.2018 L’Oréal USA For Women in Science Fellowships, Deadline: Feb 2
The L’Oréal USA For Women in Science fellowship program honors female scientists at
a critical stage in their careers with grants of $60,000 each. Since 2003, they’ve
awarded 70 postdoctoral women scientists over $3.5 million in grants. They are seeking
five exceptional female scientists looking to advance their research and serve as
role models for the next generation of girls in STEM.
