Biography
Radu Ionas is a Lecturer in the Physics and Astronomy Department. He received his
PhD in Theoretical Physics from Stony Brook University, and has taught both physics
and mathematics at Stony Brook University and the University of Edinburgh in the UK.
His scientific interests lie at the intersection of mathematics and theoretical high
energy physics, in particular supersymmetry and string theory, with a current focus
on the geometry of hyperkähler and quaternionic-Kähler manifolds, twistor geometry,
and the relation between normed division algebras and exceptional groups.
