What is your major or minor?

Interdisciplinary Biology Major with a Double Minor in Health, Medicine, & Society and South Asian Studies
    Class of '26

Why did you want to join the internship program?

I pursued this internship to deepen my engagement with the humanities while advancing in science and medicine. As a future physician serving my South Asian community, I recognize that medicine often overlooks the social, historical, and cultural factors shaping health. This opportunity reinforces my commitment to bringing humanity back to medicine by exploring these intersections. It will also help me network with professionals who value cultural perspectives in healthcare, strengthening my ability to advocate for inclusive, compassionate patient care and ensuring that research and treatment reflect the real lives of those we aim to help.

What is your major or minor?

Double Major in Asian & Asian American Studies & Women's, Gender & Sexuality Studies
Class of '25

Why did you want to join the internship program?

I was interested in becoming an intern with the department because being an Asian and Asian American Studies major, I am passionate about informing fellow students about the importance of learning about the AAPI community and its histories. I also wanted to get more involved with the department by helping to create engaging events that can attract future AAS majors and minors and promoting the major and guiding future AAS majors and minors to possible opportunities that they can do through the major, whether it be study abroad, courses, lectures, fellowships, or internships.

What is a fun fact that we should know about you?
