Family Weekend 2025

Hello Seawolf Community! We would like to invite you to our on campus Family Weekend event! Families and loved ones of a Seawolf from any academic year are welcome to visit our three-day weekend filled with activities. From Friday, September 25th through Sunday, September 27th, visit us at Stony Brook, located on eastern Long Island, to spend time with your student and enjoy all that our campus has to offer! Attend our Saturday night home football game or an evening show at our on-campus Staller Center for The Arts. During the daytime, Family Weekend will be packed with informational and fun events and our famous CommUniversity Day event, where our community hosts interactive activities, fun entertainment, and thought-provoking mini-talks. Don't forget to visit the newly remodeled SBU Campus Store to see the resources available to your student all year round and to purchase some SBU Swag! Welcome President Andrea Goldsmith
Meet The New President
Andrea Goldsmith is the seventh president of Stony Brook University, SUNY’s research flagship and the No. 1 public university in New York State.
Appointed in August 2025, Goldsmith also oversees Stony Brook Medicine, Long Island’s premier academic healthcare system; co-chairs Brookhaven Science Associates, which manages Brookhaven National Laboratory for the U.S. Department of Energy; and chairs the board of the New York Climate Exchange, a historic partnership anchored by Stony Brook University to build an international climate solutions center on Governors Island.
