Keynote Session - Assessment and Artificial Intelligence: Identifying Problems & Solutions
Dr. Justus will facilitate an interactive, two-part keynote session focused on articulating
the challenges of conducting student learning outcomes assessment in an age of artificial
intelligence. Through reflective and collaborative activities, Dr. Justus will also
guide paticipants to brainstorm potential solutions to rethink assessment, re-evaluate
institutional processes, and recenter the intersection of higher education programs,
student learning, and the external stakeholders/employers that hire our graduates.
Industry Perspectives: Employers' Assessment of the Skills Students Need
Explore the transition from classroom to career from the perspective of the employers
that hire our graduates. Moderated by SBU's very own Marianna Savoca, PhD, Associate
Vice President for Career Readiness & Experiential Education, this panel discussion
will bring together leading employers from the local community to share their insights
on the essential skills that students need to be successful in today's workforce.
Hear firsthand how you can align your program learning objectives and assessment methods
to reflect employers' expectations and promote student readiness for their career
goals.
