LEARNING OBJECTIVES

1. Upon completion of the degree, students should be able to create a comprehensive portfolio that showcases their skills in the job application or interview process.

2. Upon completion of the degree, students should be able to create and apply their lesson plans and as part of their experiential learning and coaching requirement.

3. Upon completion of the degree, students should be able to analyze the basic responsibilities required in the leadership and management of interscholastic and intercollegiate athletics programs. They will apply their working knowledge of the various issues and trends impacting the administration and coaching of school-based athletics.

4. Upon completion of the degree, students should be able to evaluate and analyze the role of a coach as a member of the athletic health care team, including the development of injury preventive strategies, basic injury assessment and management techniques, and the minimization of risk and liability factors.

5. Upon completion of the degree, students should be able to develop the ability to evaluate and analyze human movement, applying mechanical concepts and principles to motor skills, in order to evaluate error and maximize athletic performance.
