Baroque Sundays at Three is Long Island’s leading music series dedicated to historically
informed performance of early music. Concerts are offered free with a suggested goodwill
donation of $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors to offset expenses and
further the study and performance of early music at Stony Brook University.

This exciting new Washington, D.C.-based group offers intimate, imaginative and dramatic representations of early music, with the goal of connecting to audiences all over the country. Relic’s innovative programming results in a breathtaking concert experience and has captured the hearts of new and seasoned concertgoers alike.

MASTERPIECES OF THE BAROQUEÂ
The Stony Brook Baroque Players will perform its annual pre-Thanksgiving concert of vocal and instrumental gems from the 17th and 18th centuries. The cream of the crop of Stony Brook graduate students will amaze and thrill you with their dedication to expressive and virtuoso performances on both period and modern instruments. Featured composers will include Bach, Telemann, Rameau and more.

THE ECSTATIC AND THE DIVINE
The Suore Project — an exciting new group from Boston — will present the passionate music of nun composers that spans eras and empires, from the 9th century Eastern Roman Empire to 17th century Italy to contemporary Ethiopia. Inspiring works by Rosa Giacinta Badalla, Chiara Margarita Cozzolani, Kassia of Byzantium and others will ignite the heart and delight the mind.

HARPISCHORDS GALORE
The Stony Brook Harpsichord Studio will present an exciting afternoon of solos, chamber music and concertos, featuring some of the most endearing music from the Baroque era. Don’t miss this journey up the Rhine of French and German masterpieces from the 17th and 18th centuries. Featured will be music of the Bach family, Couperin and more.

STONY BROOK BAROQUE PLAYERS IN CONCERT
Our season ends with a celebration of the enormously talented graduate students from Stony Brook’s music department. We will feature expressive and virtuoso vocal and instrumental music from the Baroque age with works from the early 17th century, including Monteverdi, through to the genius of Bach and Handel.
All concerts are in the Staller Center Recital Hall. Admission is free with a suggested donation of $10 per person.
