Robert Miller

With over two decades of experience in higher education administration, Dr. Miller currently serves as the Director of Institutional Research, Planning, and Effectiveness at Stony Brook University. 

Prior to joining Stony Brook University, Dr. Miller worked at Centenary University. During this tenure, Dr. Miller held several key positions, including Vice President of Enrollment Management,  Dean for Institutional Research and Assessment. and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs/Director of Institutional Research. These roles involved extensive work in data analytics and higher education administration.

Dr. Miller also served as the Director of Institutional Research/Associate Director of Admissions at the University of New Haven, and as the Assistant Director of Admissions at Muhlenberg College.

Dr. Miller holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership, Management, and Policy from Seton Hall University, a Master of Science in Experimental Psychology from Saint Joseph's University, and a Bachelor's of Psychology from Muhlenberg College.

Dr. Andrei Antonenko is an Associate for University Systems Analysis in Institutional Research, Planning & Effectiveness. He supports analytical and reporting needs for the Office of the Provost and other areas of the University. He plays a key role on cross functional teams to use programming and analytical techniques for the extraction,  validation, and analysis of data, preparation of reports, and making presentations.

Prior to joining IRPE, Dr. Antonenko worked in the Provost's Office where he was responsible for the analysis of data and production of data reports.

Dr. Antonenko holds a Ph.D. in Theoretical Linguistics and a M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from Stony Brook Univerisity.

Theresa Diemer

Theresa Diemer is the Assistant Director for Data Governance and Management.  She is responsible for maintaining and ensuring that data sources owned by IRPE are valid and robust in order to meet internal and external reporting requirements.  She works with university leaders to understand business rules and operational requirements; ensuring analysts in the IRPE Office and others in the university have access to appropriate data.

Prior to her start in the Office of IRPE in the fall of 2014, she worked for the Department of Campus Residences at Stony Brook University as Lead Programmer Analyst where she was responsible for data management, programming and support of the department’s applications.  

Theresa holds a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration from Stony Brook University.  She received her first Bachelors of Science in Environmental Science from SUNY Plattsburgh and her second Bachelors of Science in Information Technology from DeVry Institute of Technology.  

Nora Galambos

Dr. Nora Galambos received her MS and PhD in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from Stony Brook University, funded in part by a scholarship from Brookhaven Women in Science, the women’s science organization at the Brookhaven National Laboratory. She also was awarded a National Center for Education Statistics/Association for Institutional Research fellowship, which funded her Graduate Certificate in Institutional Research from the Pennsylvania State University College of Education. Beginning her Stony Brook career in 1992, Dr. Galambos spent several years working as a statistician in the Medical Center, contributing to medical research studies, co-authoring journal articles and grants, and overseeing data management. Since coming to Institutional Research in 1999, she has worked on Middle States and departmental program accreditations, served as the PI for major surveys, and studied factors associated with programmatic and student outcomes. An expert in a wide array of data analysis methods, Dr. Galambos has given numerous conference presentations encompassing statistical methods and their higher education applications. She frequently serves as a reviewer of papers for national and regional conferences.

 Christina Gonzalez is a People Analytics Specialist in the Office of Institutional Research, Planning, and Effectiveness, where she ensures that the Stony Brook community has ready access to accurate statistics about faculty and staff employed by the University. She has collaborated with HelioCampus to obtain data and create insightful Tableau dashboards. Christina currently holds a Master’s Degree in Data Analytics and Applied Social Research. She has extensive knowledge of R and SQL, which she leverages to enhance her projects.

Dr. Shaukat Malik serves as an Associate for Institutional Research, Planning & Effectiveness (IRPE) at Stony Brook University. With over two decades of experience in higher education administration, Dr. Malik has established himself as a seasoned professional in the field. At Stony Brook, he oversees the external reporting of university data to New York State Education, federal agencies, and ranking publications. His role also includes contributions to the IRPE website, ensuring it remains an invaluable resource for the university community.

In addition to his reporting responsibilities, Dr. Malik serves as the IPEDS Keyholder for Stony Brook University, managing all Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) surveys on behalf of the institution. His expertise further extends to participating in several National Science Foundation (NSF) surveys, where he regularly provides Stony Brook’s data for both routine and special surveys.

Dr. Malik holds both a master’s degree and a PhD in Educational Administration & Policy Studies from the University at Albany. His extensive academic background and professional experience make him a vital asset to the Stony Brook community. He is also a member of the Association for Institutional Research (AIR) where he engages with peers and stays current with the latest developments in the field.
