Professor E. Takeuchi began her professional career in industry, where she spent 20+
years as a researcher and administrator. After five years as a faculty member at
the University at Buffalo (UB), she was invited to join the faculty at SBU and the
staff at BNL in the summer of 2012. Among her awards and honors are her membership
in the National Academy of Engineering and her National Medal of Technology and Innovation
from President Obama.
Dr. Kenneth J. Takeuchi

Professor K. Takeuchi was a professor of chemistry at the UB for 20+ years, then was
invited to join the faculty at SBU in the summer of 2012. His research interests
first involved transition metal coordination chemistry and homogeneous redox catalysis,
and his current research centers on the synthesis and electrochemistry of inorganic
materials. His teaching and mentoring has been recognized by a variety of awards
including a national award, the CMA Catalyst Award.

Professor A. Marschilok began her professional career in industry, where she spent over three years as a researcher
in the development of medical energy storage devices. She transitioned to academics
in 2007 and began her career at SBU in 2012. Among her awards and recognitions are Visionary of the Year from Greatbatch Inc. and a Woman of Distinction award from the Girl Scouts of Western NY.
