Resources
Our work at the Seawolves Pantry is just one step towards solving student hunger on campus. Explore the additional resources that exist beyond our pantry, whether located on- or off-campus.
Free Food Dashboard
Our Free Food Dashboard was launched as part of our Food Waste Reduction Initiative, in an effort to reduce food waste on campus and provide additional resources to our students. At the end of these events, any remaining food will be available for you to take. We welcome you to stop by the events posted to this dashboard.
Disposable food containers are available at the Seawolves Pantry for guests to take as needed.
Please note the following:
- Free food can mean a multitude of things to different event hosts: from chips and cookies to fully catered meals.
- An event appearing on this dashboard does not guarantee that food will be leftover at the end, as goods are limited depending on guest count. You are more likely to get the full benefit of the goods offered if you attended the event itself.
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program
Formerly known as food stamps, SNAP is a program that helps low-income working people, senior citizens, and others put healthy, nutritious food on the table and feed their families. The Seawolves Pantry offers our SNAP referral consultations to assist Stony Brook University community members in determining their eligibility for SNAP and other support services and programs.
On-Campus Resources
The Seawolves Pantry acts as a supplemental source of food. For guests who need further assistance, we have many on-campus partners who may be able to lend their services. Whether you are a student, staff, or faculty member, explore your wide range of options and get the most out of the campus experience.
Off-Campus Resources
Whether you commute or have graduated, if you are unable to visit the Stony Brook Seawolves Pantry for any reason, find other nearby food pantries on Long Island and in the New York City region.
