The Stony Brook University Peace Corps Prep program equips undergraduates with the coursework, real‑world experience, and leadership training essential for careers in international development and potential Peace Corps service.
Students progress through a structured cohort model that includes sector training, practical volunteer experience, foreign-language proficiency, intercultural competence, and professional/leadership development.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island- On Campus Mentoring Program
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island (BBBSLI) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing one-on-one mentoring for youth ages 7–17. Through our on-campus partnership, Stony Brook University students have the opportunity to serve as mentors, meeting weekly with their mentees every Tuesday from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM in the Student Activities Center from September through May.

Contribution Project
The Contribution Project is an opportunity presented by Cornell University for students
with an idea that will make a positive difference in their community. Undergraduate
students may apply for the chance to win $400 in funding to carry out a project that
positively contributes to their community.
Applications for the Contribution Project typically open at the beginning of the Spring
semester.
