Where are you originally from?
Sound Beach, Long Island
On Stony Brook:
It is close to my home and has a fabulous reputation.
On her major:
My major is English and the reason I chose it was because some of my family members
graduated with an English degree and I also love to write stories.
Favorite class:
EGL 303.03 Banned YA Books with Professor Ken Lindblom. This was the best class I
ever took at SBU -- I learned a lot about why some YA (young adult) literature was
being banned and it was heartbreaking to hear why. Ken Lindblom was the best professor
I ever had. He cared about books, was very funny, and was helpful with students.
Interests and accomplishments:
I am a part of the 18th Annual Women in Medicine and Science Research Day, Men in White Lab Coats Youth
Summit, part of a research group in the Department of Anesthesia, and, working in
SARAS ( Science Research and Awareness Series) Summer Program.
Awards and Accolades:
I have been on the Dean's List since my second year. I was nominated for the Stony Brook Student Life Award 2024 and expect to graduate with Honors Distinction of Cum Laude. I also received the 2024 Theresa Montenaro 200% Student Leader Award.
Plans for post-graduation:
Take a year off to work at Stony Brook. However, during that one year off, I will
be applying for the Master program of Medical Humanities, Compassionate Care, and
Bioethics.
Clubs or organizations:
-Alpha Nu Zeta (ANZ)
-Science Fiction Forum member
-Company of Archers
-USG Commuter representative of the Student Life Committee.
