BS Chemistry
Pronouns: she/her
On her major:
I am a chemistry major with a focus on inorganic and radiochemistry in the context
of nuclear medicine. I initially chose chemistry after I enjoyed the material in high
school, and as I continued to learn chemistry I discovered a passion for metal bonding
environments and radioactive properties. This interest was confirmed and greatly encouraged
once I joined Dr. Eszter Boros’ lab and began conducting research in the field, and
I knew I wanted to continue along the path of research.
On Stony Brook:
Both of my parents attended Stony Brook and my grandfather is a professor of pharmacology
here, so I knew the school’s reputation in science. I was looking for research opportunities
as well as a place where I would be surrounded by other people passionate about chemistry.
Greatest achievement:
I am very proud of the work I have done in Dr. Boros’ lab, and I consider my greatest
achievement to be my senior thesis. It represents the culmination of nearly two years
of hard work and amazing experience, and we got a publication out of it as well.
Plans for post-graduation:
I will be attending the University of Iowa as a PhD student to continue studying medicinal
inorganic and radiochemistry.
