Foreign Language placement Exam

Stony Brook University's Foreign Language Placement Exam (FLPE) allows students to satisfy Stony Brook’s SBC: LANG and/or to place into an Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Spanish language class. Students wishing to satisfy LANG in a language for which a FLPE is not offered can take a Challenge Exam in languages that are included in the Stony Brook Curriculum.  Visit the Language Learning Research Center website for more information or to register.

Math Placement Exam 

The math proctored assessment is required if you wish to enroll in a mathematics class, unless you have AP or transfer credit equivalent noted on your Stony Brook transcript. All exams take place in the Math Tower, S-235 and take approximately 2 hours to complete.
