Who Do We Serve?
Academic and Transfer Advising Services (ATAS) advises undergraduate junior, senior, and transfer students in the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business, School of Communication and Journalism, and School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences. ATAS also provides Pre-Health advising to students pursuing Healthcare programs and careers.

Drop-in advising is available both virtually and in person
Drop-ins will run from 1-4pm on the following days:
Virtual: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday
In-Person: Thursday

How to join virtual drop-ins
- Log into Navigate
- Select "Get Advising or Tutoring" (mobile users click "Appointments" icon first)
- Click "View Drop-In Times" on the right
- Choose "Academic and Transfer Advising Services" under "Select a Service Department" or "Advising Unit"
- Select "Find Available Times"
- For location, pick "Academic and Transfer Advising Services"
- Select "Check in with the first available advisor"
Once checked in, you will see a confirmation message. Please monitor your Stony Brook email for a Zoom link from the first available advisor.
*Please join the Zoom within 5 minutes of receiving the link. Drop-ins are on a first-come, first-served basis. Wait times can vary.
If you no longer need to meet, please return to your Navigate homepage and checkout.
General Advising
- Undergraduate Junior, Senior, and Transfer students can meet with any ATAS advisor to discuss your general graduation requirements (except for major requirements), university policies, and more.
Transfer Credit Advising
- All undergraduate students can meet with any ATAS advisor to discuss transfer credits and test credits.
Pre-Health Advising
- Undergraduate students can meet with any ATAS advisor to discuss Pre-Health program
prerequisites.
