Jack Lupfer
Former Council Chair
Jack Lupfer joined the Council of Student Advisors as a senior biology major on the pre-dental track currently applying to dental schools this application cycle. He is a native Long Islander having grown up just thirty minutes outside of Stony Brook in Medford, NY. His involvements and extracurriculars on campus included being an apartment resident assistant, president of the Pre-Dental Society, undergraduate researcher in the Molecular Genetics and Microbiology Department, student ambassador, and orientation leader amongst other things. Staying involved on campus and advocating for his fellow Seawolves is something he takes tremendous pride in.
Kate Valerio
Former Analysis Lead
Kate Valerio, who is from Merrick, NY, joined the Council of Student Advisors as a senior majoring in biology with a concentration in neuroscience. She worked as a tutor for the student-athletes and helped to set up a women's crisis center in Patchogue, NY. Kate has also helped conduct research on a longitudinal study involving looking at children's reactions to different situations and emotions. She originally became interested in the President's Council of Student Advisors to leave behind a legacy that would help new students love their time at Stony Brook as much as she did. Currently, she attends Stony Brook's MS in Neuroscience program and eventually plans to pursue her doctorate in neuroscience.
Ida Greene
Ida Greene joined the Council of Student Advisors as a junior and is from Burlington, NJ. Ida is majoring in information systems and has been involved with the Undergraduate College Fellows Committee, Sigma Beta Phi Honor Society. She has also served as treasurer and team member of the Stony Brook Women's Rugby Club. Ida has plans to travel with Habitat for Humanity and work her way up to be a part of an international affairs committee. Her future plans also include joining a design team to further advance infrastructure in third world countries. She loves being involved on campus, and assisting incoming freshmen and current underclassman on bettering their time at Stony Brook.
Skye Wiegman
Skye Wiegman became a member of the Council of Students Advisors during her junior year and is from Southampton, NY. She is a linguistics major with a minor in leadership development. On campus she is a proud member of the Spirit of Stony Brook Marching Band, a senior academic peer advisor in the Academic and Transfer Advising Office, a part of Stony Brook's Women's Leadership Council, serving as an intern for Professor John Bailyn in the Linguistics Department, a peer tutor for Stony Brook Athletics, and Public Relations Officer and co-founder of the Native American Student Organization. Off campus, Skye works as a direct care counselor for Independent Group Home Living (IGHL) working with developmentally disabled adults.
Anirudh Chandrashekar
Anirudh Chandrashekar, who is from from Jericho, NY joined the Council of Student
Advisors during his senior year while pursuing his B.E. in biomedical engineering.
Anirudh was also a part of the Scholars for Medicine (B.E./ M.D.) program. As a researcher
at the Vascular Research Lab at Stony Brook Hospital, he had the opportunity to work
on a pilot study focused on Deep Vein Thrombosis. Additionally, as a student ambassador
for the Dean of Students Office and peer advisor for the College of Engineering and
Applied Sciences, he helped welcome prospective students and returning alumni and
mentor current students.
Cyril Danielkutty
Born and raised on Long Island, NY Cyril Danielkutty joined the Council of Student Advisors as a fourth-year student at Stony Brook studying biomedical engineering. Throughout his undergraduate career, Cyril was actively involved on campus working as an orientation leader, serving as a founding member of Camp Kesem's Stony Brook chapter, and assisting with clinical research in the Stony Brook University Medical Center as an academic associate.
Brian Szeglin
Bryan Szeglin joined the Council of Student Advisors as a senior biochemistry major on the pre-med track with aspirations in oncology. During the semester, he could be found marching down the football field with the Spirit of Stony Brook Marching Band or collecting books with the Scholars Book Drive. Bryan also conducted research in the Department of Psychiatry at Stony Brook Medicine with Dr. Christine DeLorenzo and researched cancer metabolism in the Keshari Lab at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in the summer. Bryan is from Blue Point, NY.
