Extent,Scope, and Content Note
The collection consists of one photo album (1.5 linear ft.) that documents Edna May
Bogart Leasenfeld's family life and travels from 1942 to 1960. Geographic coverage
in New York includes Lattington, Jamaica (Queens), Locust Valley, Sullivan County,
Greene County, Hyde Park, and Staatsburg-on-Hudson. Her travels also took her to the
Caribbean and Central America, as well as to Florida, Pennsylvania, Maine and Massachusetts.

Historical Note
Edna May Bogart Leasenfeld was born on September 29, 1887 and died on October 27, 1972. She lived in Jamaica, Queens, New
York and was married to Carl A. Leasenfeld on April 17, 1909. Her sons were named
Charles J. and George. According to her obituary published The New York Times on October 29, 1972, she was an active member of the Jamaica Women’s Club.
