Cardiac Anesthesia – Assistant, Associate or Full Professor
Required Qualifications
MD or equivalent with four years postgraduate training in anesthesiology and board
certification or eligibility. Completion of ACGME accredited fellowship in cardiac
anesthesia. Certified in Transesophageal Echocardiography procedure. Sub-Specialty
expertise in Cardiac Anesthesia. Licensure/eligibility for licensure in New York State.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates for advanced academic standing would be expected to provide evidence of
research and academic activities.
Responsibilities & Requirements
The candidate will provide anesthetic care to patients undergoing surgery or other
procedures and will provide consultation before and after the anesthetic procedure.
The candidate will be actively engaged in the instruction and/or supervision of medical
students, residents physicians and certified registered nurse anesthetist. An active
role in clinical and/or basic research will be strongly encouraged.
Special Notes
Tenure/Non-Tenure Track. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions
of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. To qualify for
tenure and/or a senior faculty appointment, the candidate must meet the criteria established
by the School of Medicine (School of Medicine's Criteria for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure ). Anticipated Start Date: As Soon As Possible.
