Dr. Yuyin Tang
Dr. Yuyin Tang is a Postdoctoral Associate with the CCWT. Dr. Tang completed her M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Shaanxi Normal University (2016) with a focus on the development and process modeling for an improved desulfurization process for the treatment of Claus tail gas. Dr. Tang further earned her Ph.D. in Civil Engineering in Stony Brook University (2023), where her research focused on the removal of advanced oxidation byproducts by granular activated carbon and the development of metabolic 1,4-dioxane removing biofilters. Her postdoctoral research focuses on development of novel treatment techniques and bioremediation strategies for the removal of emerging contaminants (e.g. 1,4-dioxane) from groundwater. Dr. Tang’s research specifically focuses on i) understanding the mechanism of 1,4-dioxane biodegradation in biofiltration systems and ii) system design and material evaluation for the treatment of 1,4-dioxane and other emerging contaminants.
