Dr. Xinwei Mao

Dr. Xinwei Mao is an Associate Professor in the Civil Engineering Department at Stony Brook University serving as the Associate Director for Phosphorus Initiatives with the Center for Clean Water Technology and is leading the development of practical, cost-effective methods of P recovery and re-use for agricultural or other applications. Dr. Mao earned her PhD in Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley in 2015. Other research interests include bioremediation of recalcitrant contaminants in groundwater and sediments, as well as bio-energy production from waste and wastewater.
