Allen Krantz, 1940 - 2018

Dr. Krantz served on Chemistry faculty from 1968 to 1980. His research included using photochemical reactions in inert low-temperature matrices to make highly reactive species such as cyclobutadiene. After he left Stony Brook, Dr. Krantz held several high-level positions in the pharmaceutical industry, and founded Advanced Proteome Therapeutics, where he served as Chief Scientific Officer and COO. 

Dr. Krantz visited SBU in spring 2018 for the opening of our Leaders in Chemistry Wall, which includes a tile in his honor. Dr. Krantz will be missed.
