Dr. Sandra Kim’s research and teaching will not only enhance the research on Asian American Studies and Korean Studies in AAAS and SBU as a whole, but it will also enrich the global curriculum of the College of Arts and Sciences with her expertise in transpacific Asian American Studies, critical Korean Studies, comparative race and ethnic studies, diaspora studies, and empire studies. Her research and scholarship fit well with the global vision of CAS in helping to shape our students into citizens with global vision, political awareness, and cultural sensitivity. Dr. Kim’s experience as one of the main organizers of the Asian American Justice + Innovation Lab will benefit our students who aspire to explore career opportunities in NGOs, state departments, SBU and Long Island community as a whole.
