Adding Experiences to Your Courses

Students consistently rate themselves as more proficient in the career competencies employers are seeking than employers do, resulting in a skills gap.  While some students develop these skills through curricular and co-curricular experiences, many face challenges in identifying and articulating their competencies.  You can help us bridge this gap by providing experiences in the classroom that help students to develop these skills and reflect upon these experiences..

How Can Students Develop Career Competencies Through Your Class Assignments?

You can articulate the career competencies students will develop in your syllabus, and throughout your course by connecting them to specific assignments.  Doing so signals to all students the connection between your course content and marketable skills.
